Brad and Beverly enjoyed
several years of retirement, but have now reentered the work
force.
Brad is now working for the Dallas
Honeywell Branch helping out in West Texas and New Mexico.
Brad was previously contracting back to his old employer,
Honeywell, Inc. in Beaumont, TX. The Exxon Mobil plant was
submerged in 8 feet of water during the hurricane. As a result,
almost all of the instrumentation had to be replaced.
He was in Beaumont 8 months.
Beverly
has accepted a position at First National Bank of Santa Fe. Her
first assignment was traveling to bank branches that had a vacancy due
to vacation or illness.
She was offered, and accepted a job at the local
branch only a couple of miles from our home. She is now a "PBR" or
Personal Banking Representative, opening new accounts, making loans,
selling certificates of deposits (CDs), etc.
Going back to work has been interesting
and fulfilling. We enjoyed taking a few years off, but
it's exciting to start new ventures.
Keeping busy was
not one of
our problems in our first year of retirement,
2006. Our travels took us from as far
south as Palomas, Mexico
and as far north to Jasper,
Alberta, Canada
and a lot of points in between. We enjoyed many visits
from and visits to see family and friends.
In 2007, our longest
trip was to the beautiful state of Utah. We certainly want to
return.
In January of 2008, we spent 2 weeks in Mexico
thanks to the generosity of our friends Ross and Jane.
We hosted our 3rd Bluebonnet Casita rally (second year in
Bandera, TX). And purchased a new home in October. In
November, Brad accepted the assignment in Beaumont.
We
are active in the local RV club and we are looking
forward to traveling as a group around New Mexico on a few
trips next year.
Stay tuned for further
developments.
